I have lived in Marston St Lawrence and Greatworth for the last 25 years and I have been a Parent
Governor since November 2015. I currently have a son in Year 4 and a daughter in Year 6 and an
older daughter who is now in Year 8 at Stratford Girls Grammar School. Professionally I have a commercial and business development background and work for a large
Environmental Services business in the water sector.
I am currently Chair of Governors and also sit
on the Finance and Premises Committee where hopefully my commercial knowledge can support
and add value to the school.
I was a Headteacher for nearly 30 years and my last School was an Outstanding Academy for over 500 Primary pupils. I also spent three years as a member of the Headteacher Board at the Department of Education advising the Regional Schools Commissioner for the North West London and South Central Region on Academy and Free School matters. I joined the Governing Body of Greatworth to share my knowledge of education and to assist in providing a learning environment that gives the children a successful, positive and happy experience of School.
I joined the Governing Body in January 2017. I have worked in Early Years Education for 14 years and currently run my own baby and toddler group as well as working part time as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in a local school. As my knowledge and background is within the Early Years curriculum I sit on the Quality and Standards sub committee and have the responsibility of EYFS, maths and safeguarding.I very much enjoy being a part of the governors at Greatworth as we have a great team and the school is a very happy place to be.
Previously a Chair of Governors and Chair of Finance Committee at Surrey Infant School. Worked 19 years in a Retail Banking environment before setting up my own franchise business. Recently retired.
I have lived in the village for over 40 years and am a retired teacher who has had many years of
experience teaching a wide range of subjects and age ranges. My main subject is Technology and as
a department leader I have had responsibility for planning and managing the curriculum and annual
budget.
My own children and now my grandchildren attended Greatworth School and hoping to get
involved and give back something to the community, I have a trained and served as governor since
January 2017, with particular involvement in the Finance & Premises committee.
I have been part of Greatworth community all of my life, having lived on the farm at Greatworth Hall and attended Greatworth Primary School as a child. I trained to be a teacher and graduated in 2013, I have gained a lot of work experience through Greatworth school since the age of about 15 and throughout my teaching degree. Having taught in Key Stage 2 for three years I turned my attention to learning outside and now run Greatworth Hall Farm Education Centre on our family farm, just outside the village. I have been trained to level three in Forest Schools and have a BA(Hons) in education with qualified teacher status. I am passionate about education and keen to be involved in continuing high standards of learning in the school.
My background is in Web Development and Web Consultancy. I have worked in the industry for over 20 years and I now run my own Consultancy company. I work with individuals and organisations in both the public and private sector.
I am a Parent Governor and sit on the Finance and Premises Committee and Quality and Standards Committee. I am also the Website and ICT Governor. I have a 6 year old son in Year 2.
I have lived in Greatworth, and now Marston St Lawrence since 2010, and joined as a Parent
Governor in January 2019. I have twins, a boy and a girl, in the school, who are in year 3 currently.
In 2014 I had been working in Logistics Planning for around 20 years, but was fortunate to be able to
take a career break to help my children transition into preschool, and then full time school. I have
thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to do this and be on hand for them. It is interesting learning
about how the school is run, and I look forward to being able to contribute by serving on the Finance and Premises Committee.
